Interagency Wilderness Interpretation and Education Workshop

Dates: Monday March 18, 2013-Thursday March 21, 2013

Location: St. Marks, FL

Lead Trainer: Steve Archibald

Target Audience: Interpreters, public-affairs staff, communication specialists, wilderness managers, and non-agency partners and stakeholders.

Description: This course will help participants: Strengthen knowledge about the values and benefits of wilderness in a changing world within and outside participants' agency; Identify internal and external wilderness interpretation, education, and communication issues within and outside participants' specialty areas and agencies; Develop action plans to address wilderness interpretation, education, and communication issues using a process that capitalizes on the diverse and collective skill sets that participants bring; Position to advance their unit objectives by becoming part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Wilderness Act; Inspire, equip, and motivate to provide wilderness interpretation, communication, and education to a variety of internal and external audiences to raise the next generation of wilderness stewards.
