Location

To find the McCullough Trail trailhead, turn on the Knight Ranch Road off of Las Vegas Boulevard approximately 4 miles north of Jean, NV. The Knight Ranch Road is paved for approximately 5 miles, and then turns to graded dirt. Maintenance of the road ends at an old cattle camp at the mouth of a canyon. From here you will need a vehicle with high clearance. Continue up the road approximately 2 miles and park (the road becomes a difficult to drive wash further up). Hike up the main wash to a saddle and look for the trail immediately on the left. The trail passes by an old livestock water trough at North Railroad Spring. Don't drink without first treating the water. Camping is not allowed within 300 feet of water so that wildlife have free access to this limited resource.
