Forest Legacy Center
What: The Forest Legacy Center hosted a birthday party for the Wyoming andNational Wilderness Acts on September 3rd. The party featured remarks fromFlo Shepard, who grew up on a sheep ranch in Kemmerer Wyoming and was veryinvolved in wilderness. She is the wife of the late Paul Shepard and TerryTempest Williams’s former teacher. The event also featured a silent auctionof wilderness art by noted photographers Tom Mangelsen and Harry Holdsworthand a beautiful pen and ink drawing of the Gros Ventre Wilderness area bySusan Marsh (Recreation and Wilderness program manager for theBridger-Teton National Forest). The Birthday celebration was partly afundraiser to support interns working in the Teton, Gros Ventre, andBridger Wildernesses this year to accomplish on-the-ground restorationprojects, monitoring, community outreach, and produce astate-of-the-wilderness assessment.When: September 3, 2004
