Tionesta Wilderness Area Backpacking Trip

What: 2004 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act. Come celebrate this legendary event in the Allegheny National Forest for a two-day backpacking trip in the proposed Tionesta Wilderness Area. The Tionesta Wilderness Area is a pro-active restoration-based Wilderness proposal designed to protect the largest tract of old growth forest remaining in Pennsylvania and restore surrounding habitat. Explore the old growth and learn about how you can make this proposed Wilderness a reality.
