- Regional Wilderness Coordinators: Each NPS region with wilderness has a Regional Wilderness Coordinator (RWC) - Alaska, Pacific West, Intermountain, Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast. The RWC serves as the primary regional point of contact for wilderness-related inquiries. The RWC is also a liaison between park wilderness coordinators and the national Wilderness Stewardship Division (WSD) - helping to elevate park or region-specific issues, while sharing national information, guidance, and tools with park wilderness managers to assist with wilderness stewardship. The RWCs have a standing monthly call with the WSD and the Chair of the NPS National Wilderness Leadership Council to discuss current and emerging topics impacting wilderness stewardship throughout the NPS and National Wilderness Preservation System.
